They will Knock you out !

On Sunday September 9th, at the Olympic Skating Center in Enola, PA, Harrisburg's Nuclear Knockouts took on the New Jersey Dirty Dames' Hub City Hellrazors resulting in a landslide victory of over 100 points for the Knockouts and putting them on a four game winning streak.

The first period started rather slowly with the Hellrazors taking a lead in the first two jams, but that lead was quickly obliterated when the Knockouts' power-jammer Nash Villain exploded onto the scene with an amazing 18-0 jam over the Hellrazors' A Bomb which set the stage for what the Knockouts would be delivering for the remainder of the bout. Crowd favorite Mother Trucker followed up with a nice 9 point jam making the score 30 to 7 in the Knockouts' favor by the fourth jam. By the sixth jam, Nash Villain put up 9 points for the Knockouts while NJ's A Bomb was finally able bring her team 3 points after three consecutive 0 point jams from the Hellrazors. In jam 7, Mother Trucker laid 7 points on the board before being sent to the penalty cage. However, even with the Knockouts' skating without a jammer, the Hellrazors were still unable to put any points on the board, thanks to the relentless H.A.R.D. defense. The last high-scoring jam of the period for the Knockouts came from Eve Ternal Jamnation who put up a 9-0 jam over NJ's Big Bad Wolfe. The period ended with the Knockouts leading 63 to 17.

Things started to heat up in the second period as H.A.R.D.'s defense was getting rough. Nash Villain put out two 9 point jams over Jersey's Carmen Monoxide and A Bomb with Mother Trucker slipping an 8 point jam over Shermaine Tank in between, despite being taken down in a huge pile-up. In the fourth jam Hellrazor Big Bad Wolfe rebutted with a 5-0 jam over Eve Ternal Jamnation who was taken out with a penalty, but a heavy side-splitting blow from Harrisburg's Under Rage knocked Wolfe hard to the floor forcing her to call off the jam. Knockout Rainbow's Revenge brought H.A.R.D. back on the scoreboard in the sixth jam of the period with an 8-0 jam over A Bomb. In jam 7, Mother Trucker put up a 5-0 jam over Big Bad Wolfe taking the Knockouts up over 100 points for a score of 102 to 30, but the jam was cut short when Harrisburg's Cruel Brittania collided into fallen Hellrazor Shermaine Tank sending Brittania flying into mid air, and resulting in a nasty head injury for Tank, taking her out of the game. Mother Trucker and Jane Wrastle both laid out 9-0 jams over A Bomb and Fender SmackHerFaster respectively. The period ended with a 3-3 jam between Eve Ternal Jamnation and A Bomb leaving the final score for the period at 123 to 33.

The fast and furious third period began with two rather low scoring jams for both teams with the Hellrazors achieving lead jammer in both. Again, Nash came onto the scene with an 8-1 jam over A Bomb. In the fifth jam, the Knockouts began showcasing their newer jammers with Cybil Disobedience unleashing a 10-0 jam over A Bomb, being the second highest scoring jam of the evening! While in the pack, a relentless Under Rage delivered 4 consecutive blows to A Bomb, not taking her down, but certainly annoying the hell out of her. Between Rage and the rest of the H.A.R.D. blockers abusing her, she seemed more concerned about where the next hit was coming from rather than where the next point was coming from. Jam 6 had Nash Villain take a 5-0 lead over Fender SmackHerFaster, who received an injury after being taken out by the H.A.R.D. hitting Knockouts' defense. In the seventh jam we saw the debut of jammer NastyNiss who scored 2 points to Carmen Monoxide's 4. Jam 8 turned out to be a real crowd pleaser when in an extremely rare move, jammer Mother Trucker passed the star to pivot and fellow power-jammer Eve Ternal Jamnation, where between the two of them 9 points were scored to A Bomb's 5. Jam 10 saw the debut of jammer Holden Grudges who amazingly achieved lead jammer status and scored 5 to 1 over Big Bad Wolfe. The final jam of the bout saw the return of newcomer NastyNiss who scored another 2 points for the Knockouts to Razor A Bomb's 5 bringing the final score of the bout to 171 to 52. Both teams fought hard and put on a great performance. Nash Villain was the Knockouts' highest scorer, scoring 62 points in 7 jams, and Carmen Monoxide was the Hellrazors' highest, scoring 12 points in 5 jams.

The next bout for the Nuclear Knockouts will be October 13th against Lancaster, PA's Dutchland All Stars. With the knockouts on a 4 game winning streak, and Dutchland being undefeated with a 2 game winning streak, this will definitely be a bout not to be missed. So, be sure to head on down to the Overlook Activities Center in Lancaster, PA for yet another dose of H.A.R.D. derby mayhem!
